Where the machine tools for sale come from
The machine tools on offer come mainly from company liquidations by Insolvenzverwalter, sales of decommissioned equipment from government and the military, and industrial clearance platforms. You will also find construction, catering, agricultural and medical equipment. Lots are often sold without warranty or right of withdrawal. Read the seller's terms and check the VAT regime stated on each lot. Bidorado does not sell anything: it lists the auctions and you bid on the seller's official website.
Checks before bidding
Before bidding, read the German description: betriebsbereit (in working order), ohne Funktionsprüfung (without functional test), ungeprüft (untested) or defekt (faulty) change everything. Check the Baujahr (year of manufacture), the required voltage (Starkstrom or 400 V) and the note nur für Gewerbetreibende (trade buyers only). For an old machine without CE marking, allow for compliance work before use by employees. For medical equipment, requalification by an approved body may be necessary.
Collection, delivery and dismantling
Many lots are to be collected on site (nur Abholung). Dismantling and removal are then the buyer's responsibility (Demontage durch den Käufer), within a set deadline (Abholfrist), sometimes with an approved carrier. Some sellers ship within Germany or the EU. Between Germany and another EU country, no customs duty applies. Delivery outside the EU (Switzerland, United Kingdom, Norway) incurs import duties and VAT. An EU business with a valid VAT number can often buy without German VAT by providing a Gelangensbestätigung.
