Sanri Huabao (Three Day Pictorial), a two-sided broadsheet tabloid, was founded by renowned cartoonists such as Ye Qianyu and the Zhang brothers in 1925. It played a significant role in the history of modern Chinese comics and illustration (Manhua). After the magazine was shut down by the Kuomintang in April 1927, the artists joined forces to found the influential magazine Shanghai Manhua (Shanghai Sketch). - Outer and lower margins mostly frayed, with tears and small pieces missing in places, 4 issues with cut-outs, some tears repaired with tape. - Overall in good condition.
