
Description
Jean-Baptiste Claude Sené (1747-1803), master from 10 May 1769. Sené came from a prominent family of French cabinetmakers. From 1785 he held the title of royal supplier and made inventory pieces for the châteaux of Versailles, Fontainebleau and Saint-Cloud. Among others, the sumptuous bed of Marie Antoinette in Fontainebleau is by his hand. Today some of his furniture can be seen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others.
