Jeremias David Fiorino (attributed), miniature portrait of Olimpia Buti (?). 1824.

Description

Tempera on ivory. Signed and dated lower right "Fiorino p. 1824". Framed under glass in what is probably the original leather travel case. Jeremias David Alexander Fiorino was documented in Rome in 1821, where he was popular and well known despite his Jewish faith. A drawing places him again in Dresden in 1822, cf. "Kaskel writing at a garden table", pencil drawing, 13.1 x 9.8 cm (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, K

C ... 1937–1541). Eine Miniatur des sächsischen Königs Anton wird um 1827 datiert ( 4,4 x 3,2 cm, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, Gemäldegalerie Alter Meister, Gal.-Nr. M 199 A). Juni – 11. September 1994. Kassel 1994, Kat. 101.
