Adrian Zingg, Landscape near Manter (Normandy). Before 1790, probably 1759–1766.

Description

Pen drawing, washed, on chamois laid paper. Signed upper right "A. Zingg del.". Verso with the collector's stamp of Prof. Paul Arndt (1865 Dresden – 1937 Munich, Lugt 2067b) and an inscription in pencil by another hand. Mounted in a passe-partout, cut out at the upper corners. This drawing is very likely the model for the reversed etching "Vue d'un Villages pres des Manter".

Federzeichnung, laviert, auf chamoisfarbenem Bütten. O.re. signiert "A.
