Signed in the stone lower right "Kollwitz", titled above the image, at the lower image edge inscribed "Komite Arbeiterhilfe: Berlin Rosenthalerstr. 38". Signed in pencil lower right "Käthe Kollwitz". At the lower left sheet edge annotated by another hand in pencil "VII. 26. einziges Ex." and at the left side edge rotated 90° numbered in pencil "144.". At the upper sheet corners mounted on backing.

Lithografie auf glattem, dünnen, braunen Affichenpapier. Plakatauflage. U.re. im Stein signiert "Kollwitz", über der Darstellung betitelt, am u. Darstellungsrand bezeichnet "Komite Arbeiterhilfe: Berlin Rosenthalerstr. 38". U.re. in Blei signiert "Käthe Kollwitz". Am u.li. Blattrand von fremder Hand in Blei bezeichnet "VII. 26. einziges Ex." sowie am li. seitlichen Rand um 90° gedreht in Blei nummeriert "144.". An den o. Blattecken auf Untersatzpapier montiert. WVZ Klipstein 154 I, ... Zustand nicht verzeichnet; WVZ Knesebeck 170 A II (von B), einer von 12 bisher bekannten Drucken dieses Zustands, acht davon werden in öffentlichen Institutionen bewahrt. Provenienz: Nachlass Sammlung Johannes Leipner, Leipzig; Buch- und Kunst-Antiquariat F. W. Haschke, Leipzig, 1934. In einem Brief Käthe Kollwitz' an ihren Sohn Hans vom 23. August 1921 schrieb die Künstlerin: "Ich bin nun doch in der kommunistischen Russenhilfe gefangen. Wenn ich nur wirklich etwas helfen könnte, vielleicht mit einem Plakat. Ich würd es so gern tun. Am 3. und 4. September setzt die internationale Hilfsaktion über ganz Europa ein.". Am 12. September notierte sie in ihrem Tagebuch zu dem Plakat: "Arbeite mit den Kommunisten mit gegen den fürchterlichen Hunger in Rußland. Bin dadurch wieder ins Politische hineingezogen ganz gegen meinen Willen. Hab ein Plakat gemacht, einen zusammenbrechenden Mann, dem sich helfende Hände entgegenstrecken. Es ist gut – Gott sei Dank."
