Soup bowl with scenes after Watteau, Ozier relief decoration. Johann Friedrich Eberlein for Meissen. Circa 1740.

Description

Porcelain, glazed, decorated in overglaze colours and gold. Underside with the sword mark in underglaze blue, with a grinding stroke along the left sword and impressed no. "89". The lid inside with no. "4" in overglaze gold. The Ozier relief (French: osier = basket willow) imitates a simple, finely woven willow pattern running endlessly parallel to the plate rim. It was designed in 1733 by Johann Friedrich Eberlein.

"89". Der Deckel innenwandig mit der Nr. "4" in Aufglasurgold.
