Jean Philippe Arthur Dubuffet, born 31 July 1901 in Le Havre, died 12 May 1985 in Paris, French painter, sculptor and collage artist, one of the leading figures of post-war French art. He coined the term Art brut. On the reverse: titled and described, original gallery label from 1972 plus description, "aus Lithografia sombre aches (Hol. praticular Paris)".
